დაიბადა 1969 წლის 4 აპრილს, საქართველოს ერთ-ერთ ულამაზეს მხარეში — დედოფლისწყაროს რაიონის სოფელ ზემო ქედში. 1976–1986 წლებში სწავლობდა სოფელ ზემო ქედის საშუალო სკოლაში. შემდეგ მან სწავლა თბილისის სახელმწიფო სამედიცინო ინსტიტუტში გააგრძელა, სადაც 1988 წლიდან 1994 წლამდე პროფილაქტიკური მედიცინის ფაკულტეტზე სწავლობდა. მოგვიანებით, 1995 წელს, ექიმთა დახელოვნების აკადემიის ბაზაზე გაიარა თერაპიის სპეციალიზებული კურსი.
